The fact that there are many tunnels under the town sounds very intriguing, but in fact most of the tunnels beneath Frome are probably drainage culverts, conduits, cellars, or wells.
The Lamb and Fountain public house has many cellars and the remains of a brick vaulted Elizabethan ice house.
A local group is investigating many of these tunnels and post their progress and finds on the Frome Tunnels Project Facebook page.
The tunnel group have unearthed finds which are mixed but interesting and the museum holds a collection of articles written about the tunnels over the years.
