NEW OPENING HOURS from 11th MARCH

NEW OPENING HOURS for 2025

From 11 March we have new opening hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 11am to 3pm, plus Independent Market Sundays. Every Thursday we offer late afternoon opening, when we remain open until 5pm. Entry to the museum is free.

Our dedicated volunteers have been hard at work over the winter, revitalising the galleries, improving displays and interpretation.

The chemist’s shop, previously visible only through a window, is now open for visitors to step inside and explore newly displayed and illuminated exhibits up close.

Our newly formed Children’s Working Group has also been busy making the museum more engaging for our younger visitors with a new dressing-up area, fun quizzes and trails.

MAJOR NEW TRINITY AREA EXHIBITION FROM 11TH MARCH

Major New Exhibition

A major new two-part exhibition from 11th March looks at the history of Frome’s Trinity area from the earliest times, focusing on The Great Clearance — the 1960s enforced demolition of swathes of historic properties that were considered at the time no more than worthless slums.  The exhibition sheds light on a pivotal moment in Frome’s social and civic history, illustrating how these events shaped the town’s development and its sense of independent community.

Trinity, Part 1: The Great Clearance, 1962-1968 opens at Frome Museum, 1 North Parade, on Tuesday 11th March. Entry is free.
