Our permanent displays feature textiles, printing and metal working, and a street scene with various historic shops and premises from Frome’s past.

New for 2024, ‘The Story of the Frome Hoard’, recounting the fascinating history of the largest Roman coin hoard ever found in the UK.

Throughout the year we also have a programme of temporary exhibitions.

Benjamin Baker, who was born in Keyford in 1840, became one of the most respected and prolific civil engineers of the Victorian era. He was an expert on long-span bridges, and is best known for his work with Sir John Fowler on Scotland’s Forth Bridge.
